ANBELL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Reports to the ISP Manager. Responsible for the entire operation of the ISP and internal network infrastructure, the management of key partner, vendor, and customer relationships. Lead the technical team. Accountable for the ongoing maintenance of at least, minimum acceptable performance standard of the ISP service as well as internal business support programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Network Administration
- Ensure the most efficient and cost effective design and configuration of network.
- Monitor internal and external customer demand levels and so ensure sufficient network capacity with appropriate buffer is available at all times to meet estimated demand with special allowance for future network expansions
- Determine network key performance indicators (KPIs) as objectives to be met and maintained
- Monitor actual network performance against benchmark KPIs, circulate this report each month
- Identify corrective actions where necessary to achieve the required alignment between KPIs and actual performance
- Oversee and coordinate the management of the internal servers, networks and desktops
- Create and enforce a 24x7 team monitoring schedule and alert system – preparation of detailed “tech on call” roster
- Initiate, lead and coordinate response and resolution to any network problems and interruptions
- Identify potential hardware and software systems vendors
- Manage the relationship with vendors /suppliers while keeping senior management updated on operational issues and potential problems
- Oversee the location and operations of POPs
- Assist with the IP/Internet Connection facilities for Anbell Media Videoboards and Digital signage network.
- Manage all aspects of security - systems and operations, including the assignment of passwords, pass cards etc.
- Liaise with the other members of the Company on operational/technical issues
- Responsible for the proactive communication to ISP Manager and CSR team of network problems, their implications for the end user and the related updates of solution implementation
- Assist in the training and set guidelines for the CSR’s with reference to technical issues
- Overseeing smooth operation of the Rodopi Billing system
- Applying the relevant software updates to all application servers including DNS,Mail,Billing and Backup.
- Configuration, installation and labeling of support of devices on the network
- Monitor capacity and performance of the network and servers while providing technical support and advice for section manager and make recommendations for upgrading resources on network
- Execute routine server preventative maintenance as per schedule
- Assist in compiling user network manual
- Assist in establishing and maintaining installation standards pertaining to PC’s
- Providing informal staff training on PC concepts
- Assist CSR’s in diagnosing problems with either software or hardware components
- Assist in analyzing user needs and making recommendations
- Review operations and controls to ensure/maintain efficiency in performance of network and prepare weekly status report for manager
- Main network security and ensure all machines on the network are virus free
- To install latest releases of computer software and tools on local network
- Required to be on call on a 24hr basis
- Staff under span of control are adequately trained and motivated
- Maintaining ADSL Applications database and MAGNA EPOS system
- Any other duties and responsibilities deemed relevant to the position
Agencies Desktop Technician
- Maintaining Branch POS Computers and Applications including Digicel DSM Software
- Providing Full Technical support to 10 Branch, E.g. Printing, E-Mail, Internet Etc.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or certificate in Computer Science (UTECH)
- Minimum of 5 CXC/O’level subjects including Mathematics and English
- Minimum of 6 years experience in network administration
- Vendor neutral certification in hardware operations
- Vendor neutral certification in software and operating systems including UNIX based.
- Excellent inter-personal and team building skills
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem resolution capability
- Sound Knowledge of Virtualization and SQL
- Knowledge SAN / NAS architecture
